ANY LAST WORDS, SADDAM? updated III
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Saddam has been receiving visits from relatives, putting the finishing touches on his will, and now awaits the U.S. to turn him over to the Iraqi government. All of this could happen today or by the end of the weekend. News outlets are saying that his date with the hangman could be as soon as sometime today. Whether it's today or sometime this weekend, it will be a welcome event for millions of family members who lost loved ones to this murderous animal.
What comes around, goes around.
UPDATE: Fox News reports Saddam has been turned over to Iraqi officials; will be hanged no later than tomorrow.
UPDATE: Fox News now reporting that execution witnesses have gathered in the Green Zone; Saddam and 3 others will be hanged by 10 PM EST.
UPDATE: Dead as a doornail....next case.

OK, PLACES EVERYONE!!
A couple days ago, I posted about "12 Angry Men." It was an inside joke about me being picked for jury duty. Pam at Blogmeister USA saw the post and thought I was involved in a play or something, so today she emailed wanting to know more about my theatre experience! Pam's involved in the theatre so she was hoping to swap some stories with me.
My "acting" experience was easy enough to put in an email to Pam. One play in 3rd grade, "A Christmas Carol." I played Scrooge's nephew, Fred. I must have been bad because I was never in another play. That's show biz!!
Pam enjoys participating in the theatre and she says she can carry a tune. However, she admits having trouble "belting it out" like the pros on Broadway so the patrons in the back rows can hear.
For theatre stories, I advised her to contact Mark Vance. I understand he has a little acting and singing experience--in fact, when he sings they can hear him in the back rows, the lobby, and in the line out front!!!
Pam is one of my favorite people on the internet. She's a talented writer/blogger and I bet she's a good actor as well. She was generous enough to allow me to post a picture of her in costume from a couple years ago. The show was Tartuffe. She played Elmire, wife of Orgon.

WORDS DO MEAN SOMETHING
I know what this picture is all about, so I'm just going to sit here and enjoy it. If you want more info on it, Malkin has it. So does Andi. And Black Five makes note of someone who had plenty of company while in Iraq.
What a beautiful picture.
I dedicate this song to Mr. Kerry: (hat tip to Hank Williams)

THE THOMAS KLOCEK AFFAIR
Our man in the Morton Grove Bureau of Pajamas Media, Marathon Pundit, is asking for a little more help with fired Professor Thomas Klocek. Muslims at DePaul University used their influence to have Klocek fired and John needs a few more of you to sign the petition for his reinstatement. This has been a long legal battle for Klocek and any help you can offer will assist greatly in bringing it to a positive conclusion.
If you haven't signed the petition or blogged about, please do so NOW. If you did so in the past, blogging about it again can't hurt. This man was hosed and he deserves not only justice but his job back as well.
Marathon Pundit isn't alone in his efforts to right this wrong. Mark Vance and Andrea Shea-King took a keen interest in the story and had Klocek on their show--we're hoping they have him back again soon.
To do nothing means the Muslim extremists win.
THEY SIT DOWN TO PEE
Major hat tippage to Pam at Blogmeister USA for posting about an article (written by a woman) that includes things I was thinking. But, as a man, I'm not allowed to say such things lest I offend someone.
Of course, I'm talking about The View. Barbara Walters must hate America, our military, our President, and I don't think she wants us to win in Iraq. If she thought otherwise, I doubt she would have The Gals running off their leashes for so long.
The View has millions of viewers each week. They have the power to influence and to do good things for our Nation in its time of war. They choose not to, though. Have you ever seen The View make an effort to do something like this?
Imagine if they did.
You can still EMAIL Barbara and tell her what you think.

SHUTTLE NEARING RE-ENTRY--updated
The Space Shuttle's first landing opportunity will be at 3:56 PM EST. Because of weather problems, they have 3 potential sites available: KSC, White Sands, and Edwards AFB.
Weather at the KSC is turning bad, so I doubt this will be the one. Edwards AFB is experiencing high winds. White Sands is clear but this is NASA's least favorite site. However, they will put down there if it's the only good site.
If you don't have NASA tv on your cable, you can watch it "live" on the internet. The coverage is great. NASA TV "live feed."
***UPDATE: The first re-entry has been "waived off." The next opportunity for de-orbit burn will be at 4:19 PM EST. It now looks like the KSC is out of the question.
***UPDATE: De-orbit burn has taken place. Weather at the KSC improved and they are headed there now.
***UPDATE: Perfect landing!!!

"NOBODY WANTS TO BE AN IMBECILE"
"The blogs are not as significant as their self-endeared curators would like to think. Journalism requires journalists, who are at least fitfully confronting the digital age. The bloggers, for their part, produce minimal reportage. Instead, they ride along with the MSM like remora fish on the bellies of sharks, picking at the scraps."
Just the other day I was "Person of the Year." I was feelin' pretty good. Today I'm an imbecile. Not significant. Minimized. I'm just part of a mob.
This, my friends, is a good thing. Read "The Blog Mob."

ANOTHER MISTAKE ABOUT TO BE MADE
Last week, the incoming Head of the Intelligence Committee, Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas, showed the world, and our enemies, that he doesn't have a working knowledge of our enemy. To some, this may not seem earth-shattering, but it's a fundamental error on our part to allow this man to actually take over this committee, let alone be on it.
Our enemies must be pleased.
Here's your cheat sheet.
Jack Kelly, Irish Pennants, shares his thoughts on the matter, as well as those of the man who wrote the book:
Sun Tzu was a Chinese general who died in 496 B.C. His "Art of War" is the oldest surviving treatise on military strategy. It is still considered the best by most strategists today.
"If you know the enemy and you know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles" Sun Tzu wrote. "If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
Words to live by; words to die by.

"CHING CHONG" APOLOGY REJECTED
When Rosie O'Donnell made the "Ching Chong" comments (racial slurs) on The View, I thought she had bitten off more than she could chew. Looks like I was right. Recently, Rosie gave an apology for her remarks:
On Thursday's show, she told the audience: "To say ching chong to someone is very offensive, and some Asian people have told me it's as bad as the n-word. Which I was like, 'Really? I didn't know that.''
But the people she offended aren't buying it:
Karen Lincoln Michel, president-elect of Unity: Journalists of Color Inc., said O'Donnell's remarks "really didn't sound like an apology to me."
And it gets better. The group is going straight to the top for a response:
Lincoln Michel said Unity was waiting for Barbara Walters, who created the show, to respond to a letter asking her to publicly acknowledge that O'Donnell's remarks were "patently offensive."
Barbara is not going to be happy about being put on the spot like this and having her reputation in question. If Walters didn't know she was making a poor hiring choice when she hired O'Donnell, she does now. So, watch for Walters' public denunciation of O'Donnell, because it's coming.
***If you'd like to urge Barbara to do the right thing, email her. (top left) As always, be polite and respectful.
"Ching Chong," in review, below. Malkin schools Rosie at Hot Air.
FORD'S HEALTH FAILING
Drudge is reporting that Gerald Ford's health has taken a turn for the worse. We've seen these "updates" in the press before; it's usually not good news that follows. I remember the announcement about Ronald Reagan's failing health, and he was gone soon thereafter.
Ford took over as President during the worst of times for America. Actually, Ford was more of a "caretaker" than a President, but considering everything our Nation was going through, I think he did a good job.
Prayers to the Ford family.

DENNIS MILLER: ALL ABOUT THE WAR
I've always enjoyed Dennis Miller, especially since 9-11. He's one of few in Hollywood who "get it." Lately, he's been making a comeback on Fox News with H & C. Glad to see him back in action. OP-FOR has a post about Miller with this old stand-up routine. Enjoy.

SHUTTLE CREW WORKING THE PROBLEM
The space shuttle is docked at the ISS and the crew is hard at work fixing some problematic solar panels. Nasa has "live cams" mounted all over the space shuttle and the ISS for viewing through Nasa TV. The coverage is amazing.

***Brainster is posting good news about the Duke rape case: TWD'S DNA was NOT found on the stripper, report says.
***John Kerry is in the Middle East now--U.S. Foreign Policy in trouble--need to be willing to UNDERSTAND:
"It's very important for countries to talk to each other, even when you disagree. We have serious differences with Syria right now, we have serious differencess (sic) with Iran, but you can't begin to resolve those differences if you're not willing to try to understand.. I think it's important to begin a discussion," said Kerry, a Massachusetts senator

Whatever your opinion is, you have to give John Kerry credit for never giving up. The man simply doesn't know when to quit. He wants to be one of the guys..."He's just a guy like any other guy." Now our favorite nabob is going to the war zone...to meet the troops. The guys and gals. Read it here.
***This gal visited our troops in the war zone, too. She did it with the USO during WWII. Unlike John Kerry, her and her fellow actors made the troops feel better about being away from home and about being Americans. She was 91 when she died. Bless her soul.

PRAYERS OF SUPPORT NEEDED
Sad, sad news over at Mr. and Mrs. Media Matters. While Parker was in mom's womb, mom and dad were told there could be something wrong, but then all seemed to be ok. Parker was born and doing just fine. Today, mom and dad were given the bad news: Cerebral Palsy.
During the pregnancy, everyone went over and offered prayers of support. I think they could use it now more than ever. Please stop by and wish them well.
Andi's World has the latest on Fran O'Brien's and the Friday Night Dinners. There was some confusion regarding the dinners--Andi clears it up with this post.

US AIRWAYS NEEDS OUR SUPPORT
The Flying Imams, with the help of our good friends at CAIR, are pushing US Airways for an out-of-court settlement over their ouster from a flight in Minneapolis. This case is very important and it appears US Airways is fighting the action.
Take a moment to let US Airways know that you support their decision to stand and fight. Email them here. Much more at The Radio Patriots.

Enemies of this country are everywhere. Some are obvious, some not so obvious. Some are reporting the news to us, others sell us oil. Some are in Congress. The ones who want to do us real damage are focused on one thing and one thing only: Our economy. Many of us don't understand how all this economic jibber-jabber works, but I think we should begin learning:
"Such shifts may be modest compared with the total assets held, but they provide a crucial indication on future thinking."--Watch and learn.

The picture above was taken from the Space Coast (Daytona Beach) during last night's launch. The Radio Patriots stepped outside and snapped a pic as well. Go take a look.
Nasa TV was too cool. Technology today is simply out of this world. I have a new link for NASA TV from the NASA page, too. Just click "launch NASA TV," or just below it you can chose the type of player you want.

SPACE SHUTTLE LAUNCH TONIGHT
The space shuttle is refueled again and has a chance of launching tonight if the weather cooperates.
The best site on the internet for staying informed about shuttle flights, is NASA TV. They have LIVE CAMS (real time), announcers giving updates of flight status, and when the astronauts are in the shuttle, they turn on the astronaut--flight control radio conversations. The other night when they "scrubbed" the launch, I was able to hear the pilots as they went through shut-down procedures. Very cool stuff.

It's "BLOGGER FRIDAY" on Constitutional Public Radio--Pat Curley will be Mark and Andrea's guest today.
Pat blogs at Brainster, Screw Loose Change, Lifelike Pundits, and is a guest blogger at other sites as well. Most recently, Right Wing News. Pat's interviews are among the best ever on CPR, so I suggest tuning in. You won't be disappointed.
For those of you who are new to Pat, he co-blogs with James B at SLC, and together they have received NATIONAL ATTENTION with their debunking of the 9-11 conspiracy theories. Their posts are the best. However, the real entertainment is in the comment section. I compare it to feeding time at the zoo.
You can listen to CPR live via the internet. The chat room is located here. Curtain goes up at 3 PM EST M-F. Be there.
Don't forget--Mark and Andrea blog at The Radio Patriots.

SURVIVORS RETURN FOR THE LAST TIME
This Thursday will be the 65th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. December 7th, 1941. Still, today, there are some that can say there was a time in their lives when this day was just another day in December. Soon that won't be the case.
We all knew the day would come when those brave men and women would no longer be with us, and it seems that day is almost upon us. USA TODAY:
Now the people who survived the surprise attack that killed more than 2,400 people and led to America's entry into World War II are in their 80s or older. Dying or too frail to travel, they say this week's reunion will be their last official gathering at the sacred site.
"We're getting to be fewer and fewer in numbers," says Lee Soucy, 87, of Plainview, Texas. Soucy recalled treating injured sailors who jumped from flaming ships during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet. He was in Hawaii this week for the last time.
As I write this, a group of aging veterans are at Pearl Harbor paying tribute to their buddies who didn't survive the attack. Paying a final tribute. Bless them all.
Lee Soucy, 87, Plainview, Texas, was on the USS UTAH.
CHECK YOUR SHEET MUSIC
The post below this one was mentioned on CPR today. Mark Vance discussed the post and stood firm that Prager is wrong. To support his argument, Mark went on to quote from the U.S. Constitution, which, btw, has nothing whatsoever to do with this.
Mark either misses the point or was being deliberately contrary for purposes of creating some controversy. Alan Colmes makes a living taking the controversial (wrong) side of an issue and Mark is no Alan Colmes--not by a long shot--so I think he just flat-out missed the point. It happens. Decide for yourselves.
Here's Prager's original column.
Here's Prager's column in response to the controversy.
I think Prager explains the situation very well:
"America derives its laws from its Constitution. It derives its values from the Bible. We don't get inalienable rights from the Constitution; we get them from God  which is exactly what the signers of the Declaration of Independence wrote: We are endowed with inalienable rights by our Creator, not by government and not by any man-made document. And that Creator and those inalienable rights emanate from the Bible. Keith Ellison's freedom to openly believe and practice Islam and to run for elective office as a Muslim is a direct result of a society molded by the Bible and the people who believed in it, a fact he should be willing to honor as he is sworn in."
If you don't get it, don't think it's important, then I think you're singin' the wrong tune....
Love ya, Mark!!
IGNORE, ACQUIESCE, OR FIGHT.
Dennis Prager has gone and done it. He had the audacity to comment about the newly-elected congressman from Minnesota, Keith Ellison-D, who is planning to take his oath of office with his hand on the Quran. NEWSMAX:
In his column last week, Prager wrote: "Insofar as a member of Congress taking an oath to serve America and uphold its values is concerned, America is interested in only one book, the Bible. If you are incapable of taking an oath on that book, don't serve in Congress."
Our good friends at CAIR are now calling for Prager to be removed from his position at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, because of his intolerant views of Islam. That would be a no-no in most Islamofacist circles. In addition to CAIR, the ADL is adding their two cents as well.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Defamation League, which fights anti-Semitism and racism, issued a statement calling Prager's comments "intolerant, misinformed and downright un-American."
This is just the beginning, so keep shopping, folks!! Happy Holidays!!
There's more. Did you know that Arabs rescued Jews from the holocaust? If you read the papers over at Al J, you'd know all about it. These Arabs are the good guys. And...
Michelle Malkin posts about a "prayer interrupted" at the gym. Just see how long it takes before this gym has a prayer room installed. Just the beginning.
Gulf states proposing their own currency by 2010. Just the beginning.
We have big trouble inside our borders and I think we have three choices: One, just keep shopping. Two, take the family down to your local mosque, (there's one in your town or nearby, trust me) throw some money in the basket and give yourselves over to Allah. Three, read this post...again. It wouldn't hurt to read this one, either.
If you don't think it'll get worse, you're a fool. This is just the beginning.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED
Years ago it was called "Red Scare"--commies hiding under our beds, in our closets, at our workplaces, and worse, inside our government. Hollywood was a hotbed of Red activity. The good news at the time: There was an active campaign to bring it to your attention-to warn you.
Tailgunner Joe was the most famous of those sounding the alarm. Some say he was over-the-top, dangerous, and even crazy. The sad fact is, you will not see another Tailgunner Joe in the Senate these days, or the House, because of political correctness. Might offend someone. That's for another post, though.
"No other American did more to rouse the nation to fury over the Left's failure to confront, and battle, the 20th-century's greatest enemy of freedom. No man did more to horsewhip out of town the New Deal-Fair Deal Democrats who had frittered away the fruits of victory. In 1952, Republicans swept the House, Senate and White House, and it was Joe McCarthy who led the bayonet charge."
The Radio Patriots are posting about Dr. Jack Wheeler's call for the creation of the modern-day version of the "Red Scare."
"Jack Wheeler and Steve Baldwin, a former California legislator and the executive director of the Council for National Policy teamed up to create the “Anti-Islamofascism Movement.” They warn the current war of global conquest being waged by Islamofascists will be an even tougher fight than the battle that focused on the Soviet Union."
If this idea gets off the ground, expect the PC crowd to go nuts. Get over to Radio Patriots and hit all the linkage.

LIVIN' THE LIFE
Some of my good friends in the CPR chat room have been touting a particular libation of late. And it appears they're on to something. Apparently, this is the Rx for "living the life you want to live." But it comes with some warnings. So, salt or no salt?--that's the only question.
Speaking of libations...she's now enrolled at Bill Wilson U. But she's still blaming it on the Crackberry.
Bill O'Reilly has called on Dan Rather to show his documentation for remarks he made about Fox News. Something about Fox taking "talking points" from the White house. Rather, according to Bill, has agreed to come on The Factor and clear it all up. Stay tuned.
My question is: What will they do if there's an infidel in there? When I hear "The Flying Imams," I think of "The Dancing Itos." It's just me.
John Kerry should watch out for Mark Vance--the man's crazy!!

HERE'S WHAT I KNOW
I don't watch college football very much, but I never miss the Army-Navy game. My Brigade Commander from Ft. Ord's 7th Infantry Division gets a little face-time on the tube each year. From time to time I would be assigned to his office on CQ duty, and while in there I would admire the trophy. The man was the Army's version of a movie star. Tomorrow's game has Navy favored over Army by 21 points. Sorry, General.
***Dr. Jack Wheeler was on CPR yesterday. A sobering interview it was. Dr. Jack's website is here and it's a must read--daily.
***The Radio Patriots are posting about the upcoming shuttle launch. During this launch the shuttle won't be the only bird in the sky.
***Congress? Pigs will fly when this happens.
***Mary Ann from Cleveland has decided to give blogging a shot, and she's doing a fine job so far.
***David Kyle has much to say at his blog, too. Stop by and give him a read.
