NASCAR: SHOWING RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO PROVIDE US WITH FREEDOM
For some years now, during the opening ceremonies at the Super Bowl, the National Football League has been a little shy about showing proper respect to our men and women in harm's way. Yes, they have the color guard and the singing of the National Anthem, but not a mention of the ones who make freedom possible. You know, the ones being shot at while we watch the game in the safety of our homes. Back in 2006, I interviewed the NFL about this "oversight."
I say "oversight" because that's what it must be. After all, NASCAR and the Daytona 500 has no problem whatsoever in showing proper respect to those fighting and dying for our freedoms. The NFL should watch a NASCAR event.
