STUDDS MAKES THE PAPER

Since the Mark Foley story won't go away and threatens to be an election issue for the republicans, I knew it was just a matter of time before Gerry Studds got in the paper, too. I didn't figure he'd do it this way, though:

"BOSTON (AP) — Former U.S. Rep. Gerry Studds, the first openly gay person elected to Congress, died early Saturday at Boston Medical Center, several days after he collapsed while walking his dog, his husband said. He was 69."

No matter how many times I read it, the wording (above) doesn't work for me.
