We have another fire to put out. Officials at the Forest Lake High School District decided to cancel the VETS FOR FREEDOM NATIONAL HEROES TOUR stop at their school today because it was becoming "political." Here's their statement:

Event cancelation was unfortunate--Forest Lake High School District:

The decision to cancel today's Veterans for Freedom event at Forest Lake Area High School was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.

The event was structured to be an academic classroom discussion around military service. We thought we'd provide an opportunity for kids to learn about service in the context of our history classes. As the day progressed, it became clear that this was becoming a political event which would be inappropriate in a public school setting.

We have a long history as a public school of recognizing and celebrating what veterans have done for our country, and we are proud to provide that perspective and experience for our students. We originally created a context for the veterans’ tour to make a stop here because it would have added to that tradition. We had a wonderfully structured, educational event planned that would have offered an opportunity to present current military heros as role models for our students. Unfortunately, with potential that the event would become a political demonstration about the war, we felt it wasn’t appropriate in our public school.

After a quick reading of this statement, I think it's obvious these folks are in over their heads. Who's running this district, anyway?

We weren't sure who was running this show, so we called the Forest Lake High School to find out. Answering machine hell. After leaving many messages there, we decided to contact the district offices. Diane, who answers the phone for Dist. Superintendent, Lynn Steenblock, told us that the principal at Forest Lake HS, Steve Massey, wasn't alone in cancelling the tour stop. She went on to say that Massey consulted with other board members and they concluded it should be cancelled. We've requested that Massey come on our show to discuss the decision, but we're not holding our breath.

There's much more but I'll leave that for the show tonight. I won't mention that Andrea and one of the district people got into it on the phone. (according to them, Andrea is biased) Who knew?

TONIGHT--"Live" from the Vets For Freedom Tour Bus, we'll be interviewing David Bellavia, Pete Hegseth, and Uncle Jimbo of Blackfive. Yep, Uncle Jimbo, so hold onto your hats!! With these guys on board with us tonight, I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of this issue.

Andrea has more at The Radio Patriot.

Just a thought...possibly these officials at Forest Lake High School should watch this video so they can get a clue. FYI--Hugh Hewitt talks about this video.
