Yesterday was an important day for all Americans. It was not a good day, either. We learned two more things about the democrats.

First, they want you and me to continue paying high prices at the pump, and for anything else that's going up because of the price of oil. Yesterday, the dems stopped a bill that would allow drilling offshore. I ask you: if it isn't a good idea to drill off our coastlines, then why are the Chinese doing it? Enough is enough:

"A congressional subcommittee struck down an important bill, which could have opened up reserves worth billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas, on Wednesday, Cramer said." Read the rest. Malkin has more.

Second, they want you and me to shut up. Democrats don't like this "free speech" thing too much, so they're fighting against a bill that would eliminate the "Fairness Doctrine." With the FD, talk radio becomes a thing of the past. The dems (and some Rs) would love that because the liberal media would control the flow of ALL information to you and me:

“Now [Democrats] have a new plan: if you can’t beat them, censor them,” remarked L. Brent Bozell III, president of the Media Research Center. Read about the Broadcaster Freedom Act.

Now get on the phone.
