U.S. OPEN GOLF COVERAGE: NBC EDITS OUT MORE THAN JUST "UNDER GOD" FROM ITS OPENING SEGMENT--UPDATED
UPDATE: I mentioned in this piece that GE is the parent company of NBC. I forgot that Comcast has now taken a majority ownership role as of Jan '11. GE still owns NBC but holds a minority interest--49%, I believe.
Obviously it was a video but it had two main sound tracks laid in, one stopping while the other begins, then back to the original one. One was the Pledge by the children, then some military commands interrupted, then back to the finish of the Pledge. But when they came back to the Pledge they removed "under God" and continued to the end of the segment. Again, they did this twice. The second time it happened, there were no interruptions in the sound track UNTIL they got to the "under God" part--but when they came back to it, no "under God."
We're supposed to believe that everyone involved in this multi-million dollar production--editors, sr. editors, and all the producers simply thought it ok to edit out "under God"? Right. But not to worry, folks, NBC has apologized for the decision.
Just another flippin' bad decision by our overseers in the state-run media. NBC, and its parent company, GE, in my opinion, are enemies of our country and its culture. Gotta kill off God... gotta do it now. We'll just apologize along the way, and the peasantry will accept what words we offer up to them. Sheep.
By the way, does Bob Costas have a comment?
Below is the current Pledge from 1954. Listen to the video again and see if "under God" is the only thing that was edited out. I think you'll find more than just "under God" missing--the two Pledges have two different edits:
I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
of the United States of America,

one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
Here's the story along with the opening video segment... and NBC's statement to the peasantry.
**Side note: When I first heard about this on Sunday, I sent the story to a friend for comment. This is what my friend returned to me. Says it all, I think.
Aw, Baby. Ike didn’t mean it, Sugar. Ike’ll never do it again. You know Ike loves you, Baby.
