U.S. OPEN GOLF COVERAGE: NBC EDITS OUT MORE THAN JUST "UNDER GOD" FROM ITS OPENING SEGMENT--UPDATED

UPDATE: I mentioned in this piece that GE is the parent company of NBC. I forgot that Comcast has now taken a majority ownership role as of Jan '11. GE still owns NBC but holds a minority interest--49%, I believe.

I do not tune to the former major networks of CBS, ABC, and especially NBC. This has been my policy for years. However, I do make exceptions when something major is being broadcast. The U.S. Open being one of them. I tuned in on Sunday and picked up the coverage around the 8th hole. Later I was informed that NBC ran an opening segment featuring a patriotic theme, coupled with children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, editing out "under God"--twice. Read on because there's more.

Obviously it was a video but it had two main sound tracks laid in, one stopping while the other begins, then back to the original one. One was the Pledge by the children, then some military commands interrupted, then back to the finish of the Pledge. But when they came back to the Pledge they removed "under God" and continued to the end of the segment. Again, they did this twice. The second time it happened, there were no interruptions in the sound track UNTIL they got to the "under God" part--but when they came back to it, no "under God."

We're supposed to believe that everyone involved in this multi-million dollar production--editors, sr. editors, and all the producers simply thought it ok to edit out "under God"? Right. But not to worry, folks, NBC has apologized for the decision.

Just another flippin' bad decision by our overseers in the state-run media. NBC, and its parent company, GE, in my opinion, are enemies of our country and its culture. Gotta kill off God... gotta do it now. We'll just apologize along the way, and the peasantry will accept what words we offer up to them. Sheep.

By the way, does Bob Costas have a comment?

Below is the current Pledge from 1954. Listen to the video again and see if "under God" is the only thing that was edited out. I think you'll find more than just "under God" missing--the two Pledges have two different edits:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:

one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

Here's the story along with the opening video segment... and NBC's statement to the peasantry.

**Side note: When I first heard about this on Sunday, I sent the story to a friend for comment. This is what my friend returned to me. Says it all, I think.

Aw, Baby. Ike didn’t mean it, Sugar. Ike’ll never do it again. You know Ike loves you, Baby.

WITNESS TO A "JUDICIAL LYNCHING," CMDR CHARLES KERCHNER USN (RET) TALKS WITH ANDREA SHEA KING ABOUT THE LTC TERRY LAKIN TRIAL

Cmdr Kerchner interview archived here. *An error was pointed out to me and it's noted below.

"There are two kinds of soldiers at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas--the ones with no rank or pay, and those with keys."

LTC Terry Lakin is in the former group. So, to the government, I suppose he's now just Terry Lakin. Or worse, a number. Recently, LTC Lakin was sentenced to six months at Leavenworth for questioning an order to deploy overseas. That question was based on his fears that Obama was ineligible to hold the office of president. As a commissioned officer, Lakin's duty is to carry-out only those orders that are legal, and to question those he thinks might be otherwise.

For doing his duty, Lakin lost his career as an army officer and physician, lost all benefits, lost all retirement, lost his freedom, and for the time, lost his wife, children and extended family. But he did get a cell.

Cmdr Charles Kerchner was in the courtroom the day LTC Lakin was sentenced. After the verdict, Lakin invited Kerchner to the Lakin family home for dinner. That evening was Lakin's last day of freedom before entering Leavenworth to begin serving out his sentence. *(Correction: Cmdr Kerchner was invited for dinner the day before the court martial started. After the verdict, Lakin was immediately taken away for processing to Leavenworth.)

Cmdr Kerchner also fought long and hard with his own lawsuit in an attempt to get Obama, or a court, to settle the eligibility issue once and for all. He spent a fortune doing so, only to be rebuffed by SCOTUS without comment. Cmdr Kerchner has since directed his attention and support to LTC Lakin.

What Cmdr Kerchner witnessed during Lakin's days in court was nothing short of a judicial lynching. It's difficult to believe what took place in that courtroom... and you can read about it at
The Radio Patriot but I encourage you to tune to Andrea's show this evening at 9 PM ET and hear it in Cmdr Kerchner's own words.

You will be stunned. You will be discouraged. You will be ashamed. And after that, you will feel fear setting in.
