TONIGHT: THE HONORABLE ELIZABETH LETCHWORTH JOINS ANDREA SHEA KING AT 9 PM ET

Our regular Wednesday segment features our Capitol Hill insider, The Honorable Elizabeth Letchworth of GradeGov.com.

This evening we have many items on the docket. Below I'm highlighting two that will be of particular interest to you:

First, do you know what the Congressional Review Act is? For those of you who don't, Letchworth will give you the background and why it will play a big part after the 112th congress is seated. In a nutshell, the CRA can be used to halt the over-reaching by Obama's regulatory agencies.

Second, you've no doubt heard of "earmarking," but are you familiar with "lettermarking?" I just found out about it and it's been in use for years. Basically, it's a work-around to the earmarking process. But taxpayers wouldn't know about it because it isn't discussed openly in congress or the media. Letchworth will be giving us a history lesson on this stealthy spending process as well. Those connected with "lettermarking" will not be happy about its exposure to the tax paying public, especially those legislators connected with the Tea Party Movement and Caucus.

*TONIGHT'S ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW--CAPITOL HILL INSIDER, ELIZABETH LETCHWORTH... PLUS OTHER LINKS OF INTEREST BELOW

THE ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW--9PM ET.

Capital Hill insider Elizabeth Letchworth, founder and publisher of GradeGov.com, will give an update on the most dangerous and dysfunctional body in DC: your congress. Many topics will be covered, so prepare to take notes--there will be a test. Letchworth updates our listeners every Wednesday night.

*NoisyRoom's Terresa Monroe-Hamilton has posted today's FINANCIAL NEWS UPDATE. A must read for interesting (scary) articles about the economy.
Yesterday's FNU provided this very telling econ info piece that indicates the economy's not doing as well as some would lead you to believe.

*
Trevor Loudon at NEW ZEAL posted a video covering the history of Political Correctness. I thought PC began around the 1960s, but Loudon's presentation takes you back to the original birthplace of this insidious Marxist tool.

*Kitty Myers over on the east coast sent me an interesting article about former congressman Eric Massa. Ordinarily I would've skipped over this piece but since Kitty suggested it, I read the whole thing--6 pages. I'm glad I did, too.

*In today's
Sacramento Bee there's a piece about congressman McClintock. He's my rep here in Northern California. In it, he gives the other members his opinion of the lame-duck session, and offers up a bit of history too. Radio Patriot posted the vid.

*
Gateway Pundit posted about another rep in congress--Jan Schakowski. This Marxist is Marathon Pundit's rep in the Chicago area. Imagine that--Chicago. Schakowski's talking to the Russian media, so what could go wrong there? Read it and watch the vid--you'll see.

*Andrea Shea King's WorldNetDaily column--Surfin' Safari--is hot off the presses. This week she's on top of the latest governmental intrusions into your life--
"BIG BROTHER IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND." There's more than one govt intrusion this week. If it's important and has to do with the internet, Andrea covers it. Surfin' Safari is published each week and hits the stands on Monday evenings.

CONGRESSIONAL EXPERT ELIZABETH LETCHWORTH JOINS ANDREA

Tonight on THE ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW, Senate expert Elizabeth Letchworth will be our guest, informing us on the latest news and trends in congress. She brings to the table nearly three decades of congressional experience--always out front of the latest news and what's in store for the American public as it pertains to our elected bodies. When it comes to the nuts-and-bolts of congressional process, Letchworth has no peers.

Elizabeth Letchworth is the Owner-Founder of GradeGov.com, 4 times elected United States Senate Secretary for the Majority/Minority, U. S. Senate-retired, presently senior legislative advisor @ Covington & Burling, LLC.

Letchworth just penned a piece for The Daily Caller where she explains why we're in this mess regarding this unusual lame-duck session. In it, Letchworth makes the case for placing the blame as far back as Ronald Reagan. In other words, a very good history lesson in how congressional trends and bad habits get started and develop over the years. From The Daily Caller:

"In this era of playing the blame game, can the blame for the current lame-duck session be pinned on President Reagan? I think it can.

"Ronald Reagan won his first presidential term in a landslide election back in 1980. That election “shellacking” produced the second largest GOP freshman Senate class in modern history, with 12 new Republican senators. The largest class of GOP senators in modern history is the incoming class, which has 13 new Republican senators. The 1980 class brought to the Senate members who had little or no experience in public service." Continue reading.

Letchworth is one of our most informative interviews. She's with us each Wednesday and always has more information than time will allow. Don't miss her interview this evening.

ABOUT THOSE MILITARY ABSENTEE BALLOTS

You know, each election cycle the absentee ballots of our uniformed men and women never seem to make it back here in time to make a difference. It happens every cycle. Citizens complain, congress throws out a few nominal sound bites. Nothing changes. Zip.

Andrea Shea King--The Radio Patriot--is ahead of the curve on this problem. I suggest you follow her lead. You know what to do.

SOTU--REVIEWING THE "OATH"

Tonight, during the State of the Union speech, seated before the president will be hundreds of people. The majority of these people have a couple things in common. One, they are federal officials; two, all took an oath prior to assuming their positions.

All 535 members of congress will be there, save a Kennedy in rehab or an ailing Robert Byrd. After being elected to the 111th congress in November 2008--full house plus one-third of the senate--all took the following oath in January 2009:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

After what you've seen this country go through over the past year, do you really feel that the members of congress have lived up to their sworn duty? My opinion: no. Not even a close call.

As the president reads to us, think about the oath. Think about your congressional member(s). To some, the oath is simply a formality, words; to others, it has real meaning. Lincoln thought the oath so important, he expanded it.

Will there be any congressional outbursts during the president's read? I don't know. I doubt it. Joe Wilson just said on Cavuto that he'd behave himself. Apparently Joe got his mind right. However, in millions of living rooms this evening, there will be loud outbursts. I'm not sure if they'll be outbursts of laughter or anger. Probably both. In my case, both.

Again, the 111th congress took the oath of office in January 2009. Here's Speaker Pelosi administering it. BTW, do you play BINGO?:
