TONIGHT: MAYOR LOU BARLETTA--9 PM ET

Lou Barletta, mayor of Hazleton, Pa, will be Andrea's guest this evening. Mayor Barletta is running for congress in PA's 11 district and is up against a 13-term incumbent. The latest polling shows Barletta leading his opponent.

Mayor Barletta rocketed to national fame with his strong stance on illegal immigrants in the city of Hazleton; a stance that brought with it attacks from all sides. Today, illegal immigration is just one of the important issues that must be dealt with, and tonight Andrea will be covering some of those issues with Mayor Barletta.

You can stay connected with Lou Barletta through his accounts at
Facebook and Twitter, or at his website, Lou Barletta for Congress.

BELL, CA. HEADED FOR RECEIVERSHIP; CITY OFFICIALS' PARTY AFFILIATION DISCOVERED--SURPRISE, SURPRISE!

Bell city manager Robert Rizzo is led away in cuffs at his home.

Here's the deal in Bell, Ca.: Four of the city council members are going to jail for imposing millions of dollars in illegal taxes and business fees. The money will have to be refunded to the taxpayers and Bell will more than likely end up in receivership.

California's AG Jerry Brown is involved and will most certainly clean up the situation in Bell, return the money and send these criminals to jail. No doubt in my mind that Brown will use this as an example of his ability to clean up California's problems as he campaigns for the governorship. He'll need a lot of handcuffs, that's for sure.

Still no mention in the article of any party affiliation. Since Bell is outside of LA, it's a good guess they're democrats. If republican, it would've been mentioned prominently in the article.

"With four of Bell's five City Council members facing corruption charges, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to push for a court order to seize authority from them and turn day-to-day management over to an appointed receiver." --continue reading.

More Bell coverage here, here and timeline of events.

Ann Coulter at WorldNetDaily uncovered the party affiliation in an August column:

"The one newspaper to cough up party affiliations, the Orange County Register, admitted that the corrupt officials were all Democrats only in response to reader complaints about the peculiar omission.

"Lots of news stories on the scandal in Bell used the word 'Democrat' or 'Democratic.' But that was only to say that the DEMOCRATIC attorney general of California, Jerry Brown, who is running on the DEMOCRATIC ticket for governor, is investigating the Bell officials' salaries."

**SCANDAL** BELL, CA. OFFICIALS ARRESTED, TAKEN TO SLAMMER--updated

If the government--federal, state and local--ever wants to regain its credibility, this is what'll have to happen on a grand scale:

"Cooley said one arrest required authorities to use a battering ram.

"The suspects were booked into county facilities and will be kept away from other inmates for their protection, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said." --continue reading about city officials as they hit the perp walk.

I'm thinking these city crooks have less to fear from the inmate population than the voting public. After all, they do have a little something in common with the inmate population. Just sayin.'

*UPDATE: Larry in the comments asks a great question. One that we usually ask first.

KARL ROVE, ANDREA SHEA KING & THE POLITICAL WITCH'S BREW

This is not the first time Karl Rove has found himself on the spot. He expects to be put on the spot by the left media and their favorite politicians, not by conservatives. Real conservatives.

Rove now finds himself in the soup with real conservatives because of his obvious attacks on Tea Party candidates who have defeated establishment republicans in the primaries. Rove has shown that he is not an objective observer of these races--he's an establishment republican. And it's open season on all things establishment.

As hard as Rove tries to be otherwise, he comes off as the republican version of James Carville but without the constant foaming at the mouth. If Rove was an objective analyst, he would be focusing his analysis on Mike Castle, Murkowski and Charlie Crist for not sucking it up and supporting the winner of their respective primaries. Instead, Rove continually attacks the winners when he should be moving against the losers for not falling in line with their party hierarchy and using their significant resources in defeating the dems.

Rove loves to predict defeats in Delaware, Alaska and Florida, placing the blame on the winners of those primary races. (Well, maybe not so much Florida.) Instead, Rove should be placing blame on the losers who have somehow decided that going rogue is the most effective strategy. And Crist, Castle and Murkowski are NOT rogue politicians in the least--they are machine politicians and always do what it takes to help the primary winners in defeating their dem opponents, or at least they're supposed to. His criticisms should be targeted at them, not O'Donnell, Miller and Rubio. And if Rove did that, he'd be forced to look squarely into the eyes of the RNC and Michael Steele for allowing this to happen and take them to task for it.

Sometimes it's more telling what a politician, the RNC, or a Karl Rove doesn't say or do. Rove is clearly in the establishment camp on these races, especially the Delaware race. In my opinion, Rove has more at stake than O'Donnell does; his reputation and career are on the line, credibility is up for grabs as well. And I'm not sure if he can change course at this late date to save his reputation. In my case, he doesn't. If O'Donnell loses in Delaware, I think Rove loses bigger. If she wins, Rove loses again. The establishment--on both sides--has much to lose in Washington DC, and it seems Rove is willing to do what it takes to allow this to happen. Rove is one of the best tools for recruitment into the Tea Party movement, especially the powerful Tea Party Express with its team of expert political strategists.

Andrea Shea King adds a lot to the cauldron--the witch's brew as it were--as she points out her experiences from witchcraft's ground zero. Others, I'm confident, will join in against Rove as we near the November elections. FNC has some skin in the game as well, so it will be interesting to see how this situation develops as we move closer to a November conclusion. I think Rove will be the loser, and in a big way, no matter the outcome.

ENVIRONMENTALISTS GONE WILD

Andrea Shea King points out what happens when the environmentalists operate without fear of the people. You might think this topic is not so timely, but rest assured, these are the policies that will be touching each and every person and community across this land. The community in question is suffering from what has to be called environmental and economic terrorism, plain and simple.

"FINANCIAL TELL" AT THE SACRAMENTO BEE

Saturday morning I noticed something in the Sacramento Bee that brought a smile to my face, and the Bee hardly ever brings a smile to my face. The great and only newspaper of the capitol city of California is now placing ads on its front page. Saturday, below the fold, they were selling furniture.

There's only one reason why a major newspaper would do this: ad revenue is drying up. People are getting their news from other sources--
The New Media comes to mind.

The Bee has long been a tool of the "progressive left" here in California and it was just a matter of time before they were forced into this situation. The financial realities of being a progressive rag are now coming home to roost. It's about time.

The Bee, however, is still good for wrapping fish and lining your birdcage. But for reliable news sources, try Michelle Malkin or Terresa Monroe-Hamilton's NoisyRoom.

A SISTER GOES "ON A MISSION" TO LEARN FATE OF MIA BROTHER FROM KOREAN WAR

A Sacramento area resident, Mary Mitchell, remembers the night in 1950 when the town marshal knocked on her family's door in Cloverport, Ky, to inform them that their son--her brother--U. S. Army Cpl. Charles Patterson Whitler, was MIA in Korea.

The news of her brother going MIA caused her father to have a fatal heart attack that same night, leaving her mother with nine children to raise.

After decades of not knowing what happened to her brother, Mitchell decided to take matters into her own hands and find out what happened to her brother. Not only did she find out what happened to him, his remains were located.

After nearly six decades, a sister, and a family, finally gets closure.

TWD UPDATE PT. 2: TASIGNA + 30 DAYS

*The first TWD Update is here.

Since the first update a lot has happened. A month ago I began taking a new generation cancer drug--
TASIGNA. The drug was just approved by the FDA in June and I'm part of the ongoing clinical trial. If Tasigna continues its success rate, it will replace Gleevec as the first-line defense against Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.

In the short span of a month, this is where I'm at:

White blood cell counts are the most important item tracked on the blood test. In June my WBC was 32,000 (normal is 5-10k.) We expected it to rise prior to medication to about 40,000. We were wrong. It skyrocketed to 105,000--30 days ago. This is a place you really don't want to be.

I began with 300mgs of Tasigna, and within the first few days I had every side-effect in the book. It's a thick book. My doctor brought me back in a few days later to see how I was tolerating the meds. I survived all side-effects, even the big one: Sudden Cardiac Death. This is always a good sign, or so I'm told. After seeing the results, the doctor then doubled the dosage to 600mg. I thought since 300mgs was so much fun, 600 should be a blast! Actually, it wasn't that bad.

As the days went by, my body began fighting off the side-effects, but a couple remain with me. This is normal and I can live with it.

I'm supposed to weigh 185 lbs. At one time I dipped into the high 140s. I began treatment at 154 lbs, and today I weighed in at 160.5 lbs--when you lose that much weight, you begin counting those half pounds. Gaining weight is very good sign.

Today my WBC registered 3,500 (normal is 5-10k.) My doctor said it's off-the-charts good news. However, he said the drug was working too well and we'd have to reduce the daily dosage to 450mgs. The idea here is to raise my WBC to within the normal range of 5-10k. This should be no problem.

Because of today's outstanding test results, my doctor has already ordered additional and advanced blood tests that will examine down to the cellular level to see if the
Philadelphia Chromosome is packing its bags and leaving town. The goal of this drug is to add yrs to one's survival or rid the body of the PC. If you can rid your system of the PC, you're essentially cured. And there are many cases of this on record. I plan to be added to that list.

Many wonderful people have included me in their daily prayers. Words escape me--Thank You wouldn't be enough. But please keep me in your prayers because they're the best damn health coverage I could ever hope to have.

Blessings from me to you.

SCHOLARSHIP "MISTAKE" FAST BECOMES SCANDAL FOR CONGRESSWOMAN

Congresswoman gets caught with her hand in the cookie jar, says she made a mistake and is moving forward. But during the interview, Anderson Cooper begins asking the obvious questions and it becomes clear that this is more than just a "mistake." I don't think her constituents are going to buy her explanation.
